Making a decision is the hardest part

Sitting in the massive C-17 globemaster 3. I could barely hear the sounds of the engines because my heart was beating so hard and loud in my ears. Strapped with a T-11 parachute in my back and locked around me. It felt like the biggest decision I ever had to make at the time. Despite all the hours of training and videos and demos there is nothing like jumping out of a perfectly fine aircraft at 12 thousand feet above the earth for real. One decision do I jump or refuse.

Sometimes we can make things appear so much bigger in our minds than it really is in life. I've come to find out that for some of us the biggest hurdle we encounter when dealing with a situation is making a decision. That is where we seem to get stuck at most of the time and we waste a lot of time here. Hours, days, months and a lot of time years. We get stuck on what should I do. When should I do it and why do I do it or if I should even do it. Folk's what a dangerous place to be. Did you know that there are about 2 hundred thousand deers that die in deer related car collisions in the United States per year. What happens to the deer is they don't physically get stuck in a cars headlights as the term "stuck in the headlights" stem from. But what happens is especially at night the cars bright light temporarily blind the deer. They get confused being creatures with natural instincts and are prey animals. One of the tactics to fool a predator is to stand totally still. Hoping to blend in and not moving so the the animal that are chasing them can't see them by saying totally still hoping to blend in. Maybe it might be useful in there natural environment but not on the road with humans and our cars. The deer becoming disoriented by the lights just stands there lost in the lights and not moving, running away or anything. If the deer was to decide to move to the left or the right it would be fine. It's as if the deer can't make a decision. So bam and there goes Bambis future life and aspirations. Which leads us to our topic. Making a decision is the hardest thing for us to do. Sometimes it feels like we aren't sure if we should do this or if we should do that. Making a decision should be the easiest part of taking action but what happens is that. Our brains and our emotions come to common contradiction. Our brains tells us that the best thing to do is to leave the toxic relationship it tells what we already know is best for us. Stop doing this thing it's really not getting us where we want to be and not is it not helping us achieve our goals but it's actually setting us back. But the emotional side tells us we can't live without this toxic person and then shows you how good what your doing makes you feel and how that it's not a problem and we become stuck in that present situation. Not knowing what we should do go left or go right. And yes not making a decision is making a decision. We decide not to make a decision. Not making a decision is the same thing as agreeing to remain exactly where we are. We are going to have to actively decide with our brains and not our emotions. So we go left or do we go right. Staying idle will most assuredly cause us more continuous pain for sure. Being honest whether we choose to change our situation or not we all know what's good for us we just don't want change.
I closed my eyes and decided to jump. Are chutes we attached to a rip cord that at a certain distance from the plane would pull the cord and release  the parachute. So as terrified as I was the terror was in my head if I had chose to stay in the plane it would have been ok if I were to jump in would be fine. Not deciding would only nurture our fear. Weigh your options and decide left or right. No decision only guarantees that your situation will not change.

Thank you so much for spending your time with us at Skok International where we are changing the world by changing ourselves. You could have been doing anything in the world tonight but you choose to spend it with us
